Robson Green and Tom Brittney looked to be in great spirits filming scenes for the sixth series of ITV crime drama Grantchester on Friday.
Robson, 56, who plays DI Geordie Keating, sported a brown pinstripe suit as he joined Tom, 30, to pose for promotional photos on the last day of filming in Cambridgeshire.
Tom, who plays Reverend William Davenport, wore his usual vicar ensemble, posing alongside Robson in front of a stony wall.
They were seen bantering as the cast put the finishing touches to the latest series of the 1950s drama with Tom also seen posing with actress Tessa Peake-Jones, who plays Mrs Sylvia Maguire.
Also on set was Ahmed Elhaj, who plays a vicar, and Gary Beadle, playing the Archdeacon, who also joined in on the jokes.
All the cast and crew were seen taking Covid precautions with face masks and at one point Tom was seen sheltering from the rain under an umbrella.
Guest stars this season include Miles Jupp, Jemma Redgrave, and Rachael Stirling.
New instalments will be set in 1958, with the unlikely crime-fighting duo solving yet more cases.
The first episode will see the pair attempting to unwind at a holiday camp only to end up investigating a murder at the resort.
As events unfold on the trip, there will be serious repercussions for the rest of the series.
In a statement, Executive Producer Emma Kingsman-Lloyd said of filming amid the pandemic: ‘In these difficult times we are delighted to be able to film another series of our beloved Grantchester.
‘The cast and crew have worked tirelessly to bring the series to the screen and we know the audience are very excited to see what Will, Geordie and the Grantchester family have in store for them.’
The series is adapted from the Grantchester Mysteries novels by James Runcie and was developed for television by Daisy Coulam.
The new series of Grantchester started filming in the Cambridgeshire village of the same name last autumn and the actors and film crew were all seen to be abiding by strict rules to prevent the spread of coronavirus on set, with a poster of instructions up and masks worn.
Grantchester’s fourth series saw the departure of lead actor James Norton, who played Reverend Sidney Chambers, with Tom taking over as the village’s new crime-solving vicar.
James departed in 2019, and Tom’s Reverend Davenport now leads the cast.
