Robson Green returns with his biggest Weekend Escapes line‑up yet
Robson Green is hitting the road once again as Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes returns to BBC Two, and the new series is shaping up to be the most star‑studded yet. The 15‑episode run brings viewers more breath-taking scenery, heartfelt conversations and gentle adventure.
Ahead of the premiere, Robson shared a reflective message with fans on Instagram, encouraging everyone to slow down and savour the journey. “When we take roads less travelled, how many of us actually remember the experience?” he wrote, calling the series an “extraordinary immersion into life” and a chance to reconnect with the world around us.

Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes – S4 Episode Guide
Episode 1: Monday 5 January 2026

The Rev Richard Coles joins Robson to explore the Northumberland coastline. They take a Canadian canoe trip along the River Coquet, visit the hidden gem of Walkworth’s secret hermitage, make the crossing to Lindisfarne for a photography class and have a go at rope work.
Episode 2: Tuesday 6 January 2026

Robson is joined by Invictus Games gold medal winner JJ Chalmers. The pair head to Killicrankie, where they zipwire across the River Garry, before heading to their digs for the night. The following day, the pair take a sledge ride through stunning countryside and then head to the Blackruthven Estate, where they are given a drystone walling lesson.
Episode 3: Wednesday 7 January 2026

Robson is joined by his footballing hero, former England and Newcastle United captain Alan Shearer. The football superstar and Match of the Day pundit takes time out to go mackerel fishing off the Northumberland coast, where the pair spot a pod of dolphins. Robson takes Alan to Eshott Airfield near Morpeth to take to the skies in a 1940s Tiger Moth.

Robson joins singer KT Tunstall in her home territory of Fife as they explore the beaches of her childhood home near St Andrews. They merge their voices in a sea shanty workshop at Elie Beach with traditional singer Joss Cameron. The duo beachcomb for materials to make jewellery, and Robson tries land yachting and discovers a new passion.

Robson and brother David head to a farm near Hexham for a lesson in jam making. They try making a terrarium – a miniature garden in glass – before heading to their childhood favourite beach, Druridge Bay, where they help build a gigantic sandcastle complete with turrets.
Episode 6: Monday 12 January 2026

England football legend Steph Houghton joins Robson at Crag Pond in Teesdale for some outdoor activities. He takes the former Lioness tree climbing and canoeing before signing them up for bush craft, where they learn how to light a fire with sticks and eat a campfire supper. Later, Robson heads into Upper Swaledale in North Yorkshire for a waterfall swim and sauna.

Actor Mark Benton joins Robson on a Scottish road trip in East Lothian. Robson introduces his pal to bird watching in Musselburgh and books them into a cookery school in Longniddry to prepare lobster – where Mark is dazzled by a baked potato!
The duo stay over in a converted double-decker bus before they attempt a scaled-down Highland Games, and welly-tossing antics ensue.
Episode 8: Wednesday 14 January 2026

Robson joins up with Sheli McCoy, aka Gladiator Sabre, to explore her home area of Fife. They take a paddleboard tour of the coast, followed by a farm stay overnight. In the morning, they embark on a stunning road trip to Ansruther, where they take a boat trip to the nature reserve of the Isle of May. Famous for its bird life, fauna and flora, the pair attempt to capture the scene with landscape artist Liz Myhill.

Robson takes fellow actor Jo Joyner horse riding near the small town of Wooler as he introduces her to his beloved Northumberland. The Cheviots provide a stunning backdrop at the riding centre at Kimmerton – where Jo gets back in the saddle for the first time in years. With her love of riding renewed, Robson takes Jo to Heatherslaw Mill for an outdoor cookery lesson to make soda bread.
Episode 10: Friday 16 January 2026

Robson, his brother David and his uncle Matheson head to the Scottish Highlands to take a pack horse camping trip. With a guide leading Maggie the horse – who’s carrying the kit – the Greens enjoy their scenic hike in the East Cairngorms. The family take a woodworking lesson in the forest and fish in scenic Loch an Eilein.
Episode 11: Monday 19 January 2026

Robson takes football pundit Chris Kamara on a trip to North York Moors National Park. The pair catch up over high tea on a steam train before overnighting in a glamping pod at Yorkshire Burrows with views of the Howardian and Hambleton Hills.
The next day sees Robson and Chris go fossil hunting at Saltwick Bay before they learn about traditional bee keeping using straw skeps.
Episode 12: Tuesday 20 January 2026

Robson heads to the Cairngorms with presenter Gail Porter. The pair mountain bike through the beautiful countryside around Loch Malachie and take in the views. They sit patiently to get a glimpse of an osprey in the wild before checking into their glamping sight digs. Poetry, fresh air and landscapes dotted with Highland cattle make for a restful weekend.

Robson invites fellow Grantchester actor Rishi Nair to visit Northumberland and explore the great outdoors. They head to Kielder forest to learn about foraging, overnight in a yurt in Northumberland National Park and explore the local bat population. A session making and painting Roman-style pots ends their weekend escape.
Episode 14: Thursday 22 January 2026

Robson joins Carol Smillie in the southern Scottish Highlands for a day of outdoor adventures. At Loch Earne, they head onto the water in a traditional boat known as a coracle. They take a pottery lesson using Iron Age techniques to make pinch pots.
Robson checks in for a night in a wooden cabin at Comrie Croft. Learning how to photograph tiny insects wraps up the actor’s break.
Episode 15: Friday 23 January 2026

Robson and his uncle Matheson discover the Hepple Estate on their doorstep in Northumberland. Wildlife artist Clare Brownlow shows them how to paint using pheasant feathers. The pair take a guided walk and learn how to track wildlife. Uncle and nephew end their short break by joining a pair of performers who teach circus skills.
