Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes earns RTS North East & Borders awards nomination

The teams at Signpost Entertainment and Rivers Meet Productions are celebrating as Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes has been nominated in the Factual Entertainment category at the Royal Television Society (RTS) North East & The Borders Awards 2026.

Adding to the excitement, Signpost have also been nominated for Production Company of the Year.

Produced in the North East and loved across the world, Weekend Escapes continues to champion Northern England and Scottish landscapes, communities, and wellbeing culture – all while showcasing the warmth, humour and curiosity that Robson brings to every journey. The nomination highlights not only the show’s national impact, but also the growing strength of the North East’s creative sector.

This year’s shortlist shines a light on the exceptional talent working across the region, and both Signpost and Rivers Meet are proud to stand alongside fellow nominees who are helping shape the North East into one of the UK’s most exciting production hubs.

The winners will be announced on Saturday 28 February 2026 at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead.

RTS North East and the Borders is delighted to announce our annual awards ceremony, celebrating the work of programme makers who create TV and other content, showcasing their work and achievements on a special night at Hilton Newcastle Gateshead. 

The star-studded event will recognise production teams who deliver drama, news, comedy and factual programmes across 17 categories. 

The awards are open to all and we hope you will join us at this celebration of the amazing talent and growing screen industry in the region.
