Famous actor, singer and TV presenter Robson Green has been pictured enjoying a spot of kayak fishing in Cornwall.
It’s no secret that the 55-year-old has a love for angling and he’s now been seen taking part in the sport on the north coast in St. Agnes.
Steve told CornwallLive: “He was visiting Cornwall and took the opportunity to come out with us. He said that he’d been out fishing maybe 20 times in a kayak all round the world and Hook and Paddle were the first ones who had actually managed to help him catch some fish.
“He was great fun – just like you see on his television fishing shows. He was particularly pleased to catch a male cuckoo wrasse which is probably the most beautiful fish in Cornish waters.”
Currently the star of TV’s Grantchester, Robson began his career in Casualty in 1989 and then went onto star in military drama Soldier Soldier between 1991 and 1995.
More recently, the keen fisherman has been fronting documentaries about fishing as a sport and has travelled around the world doing this. The shows include Extreme Fishing, Extreme Fishing Challenge and Tales from Northumberland.
He was also one half of the singing duo Robson & Jerome, which had several No 1 singles, including Unchained Melody and I Believe in the 1990s.
It’s not clear whether he was here in Cornwall for business or pleasure but he has been spotted travelling across the country recently where it’s been suggested that he has been filming both for his latest series of Walking Coast to Coastand for acclaimed TV show Extreme Fishing with Robson Green.
Green was also spotted in Cornwall in 2017 when he took part in ITV’s Coastal Lives. He and co-star Peter Tanner met a couple in St Ives who were putting their life savings into renovating their coastal home and still finding time to volunteer for their local RNLI lifeboat station.
The pair took the opportunity to be taken out by the lifeboat crew on an exercise. Robson also joined a hang-gliding husband and wife team who took to the skies over the St Agnes Heritage Coast.
